Lebron James the very well known athlete from Akron Ohio who has taken the NBA by storm, is questionable as to whether or not he will make the Beijing Olympics with Team USA. A player with the Cleveland Cavalier he's shown moxy almost like a Kobe Bryant of LA. Nicknamed "King James" and the "Chosen One" he is one of the few players in the NBA to be recruited straight from high school into the pros. He has set many records such as Rookie of the Year and NBA All Star and All NBA. The very versatile Lebron is listed as a small forward but can rotate and play point guard and shooting guard as well. Everyone is looking forward to the 2007-2008 Season with him in command of Cleveland's Team.
Now the big question of this article is will Lebron James be playing in the Beijing Olympics. It's not clear if he will be playing or not. Jerry Colangelo the managing director for Team USA has told ESPN that Lebron's chances on playing the Tournament of the Americas tournament which qualifies teams for the Olympics is only fifty fifty at best. Lebron James is jeopardizing himself by not giving into his full three year commitment to the team.
His coaches state that because of his not willingness to play in the ultra important tournament that was held in Las Vegas this year that he has put his chances in jeopardy for playing in the Olympics in Beijing China. The Managing director has stated that he has a rule that if a person misses the first two events, this tourney being one of them then that person does not go to the third which would be the Beijing Olympics. I think America needs Lebron on the team, however if he is going to have a non-chalant attitude towards getting the team into the Olympics, well maybe it's time that America find a new replacement at Small Forward.
